Macarons are all the rage right now, and for good reason. They are elegant, delectable, endlessly versatile, and freeze beautifully. This makes them the perfect holiday party food, too!
These cookie are famously challenging to make. In this class we’ll learn how to mix our batter so that our finished meringue cookies sport those famous, yet elusive, “feet” (the frilly layer that you see in pictures). Feet are the hallmark of a macaron, and so far 100% of my students have produced them.
Our cookies will have smooth tops and pretty colors, too.
We’ll also prepare a simple flavored frosting that we’ll pipe into our cooled cookies. Finally, we’ll discuss how to store them, and when they are considered ready to eat.
Multiple holidays are coming, so be ready with a stash of these cookies in your freezer!
Students take home their own baked and filled cookies, a baking pan template for piping more, any extra frosting, the recipes, and a wealth of tips and tricks to ensure successful baking at home.
This recipe is a Gluten Free recipe that uses almond flour, egg whites, powdered sugar, and granulated cane sugar.
