Camp – Learn To Knit
June 24-27, 2019 (Monday-Thursday)
Mornings, 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
Pine Creek neighborhood, zip 80920 (northern Colorado Springs)
Inspire your child with this wonderfully creative and beautiful hobby that will last a lifetime! In addition to being a portable hobby that your child can take anywhere, the act of knitting also helps to sharpen your child’s focus and teach the value of following instructions. Let the journey begin here!
On Day 1 (Monday), we’ll learn the basics of the knit stitch.
On Day 2 (Tuesday), we’ll add another stitch to your child’s repertoire, plus how to “cast on” and “bind off” stitches.
On Day 3 (Wednesday), we’ll put it all together and learn to follow a pattern by starting a class project.
On Day 4 (Thursday), we’ll learn how to professionally finish our work so it looks beautiful. (If your child has not yet finished the class project, that is OK.)
This camp is open all children aged 10 years and older.
1 ball of thick (#5) yarn that is light-colored, *plus* 1 pair of knitting needles that is sized anywhere between 6mm and 8mm.
Alternatively, I can provide course materials at an additional cost of $9 per child.
The knitting pattern for the class project is included in the cost of this course.
